Ali Lin is an emerging photographer and interactive media artist currently pursuing her junior year as an Interactive Media Arts major at New York University.
With a keen eye for detail and a deep passion for visual storytelling, Ali explores various forms of photography, including film, digital, and Polaroid photography. Her work is characterized by a unique blend of traditional and contemporary techniques, capturing moments with a sense of intimacy and raw emotion.
Ali's love for film photography is rooted in its tactile nature, the process of developing images by hand, and the authenticity it brings to her work. Meanwhile, her digital photography allows her to experiment with modern tools, pushing the boundaries of creativity and visual expression. In contrast, her use of Polaroid photography provides a nostalgic, almost ethereal quality to her pieces, inviting viewers to connect with the fleeting nature of time and memory.
Through her studies at NYU, Ali has honed her technical skills while cultivating a deeper understanding of how art and technology can intertwine. She is passionate about using photography not just as an art form but as a way to explore and express human connection, technology's impact on society, and the ephemeral nature of our experiences. As she continues her academic and artistic journey, Ali is excited to develop new projects that challenge both her and her audience's perceptions of reality and time.
